Providing for the Future
Add your voice to those also committed to the legacy of the Sacramento Waldorf School—honoring the individuality of children, preparing students to meet our ever-changing world, and igniting a passion for life-long learning. Your gift will open SWS’ doors to students who would not otherwise be able to attend and will also support our outstanding faculty.
Strengthening our endowment is a major factor in our School’s ability to continue providing an inspired education that fosters strength in purpose, development of character and a sense of self and place in each student.
As our endowment grows, so does our strength and stability.
Every Gift Matters
Since 1959, the generosity of SWS parents, alumni and alumni families, and a wide circle of friends, has enabled our School to grow from a home-based program with two kindergartners into a thriving institution that welcomes over 400 students to school each year. Giving is an opportunity to reaffirm your commitment to Waldorf education while providing for the future of our School.
The Sacramento Waldorf School’s curriculum is noted for its breadth and depth, academic excellence and incorporation of athletics, arts and practical skills. This results in an educational experience that is relevant to and deeply satisfying for the student. SWS graduates have gone on to excel in universities such as Stanford, Rhode Island School of Design, UC Berkeley, Brown, Grinnell College, Columbia University, US Air Force Academy, and NYU and have become physicians, documentary film makers, psychologists, attorneys, designers, choreographers, artists, and more.
Dedicated and Talented Faculty
Waldorf students learn from talented faculty who come to us from across the nation and the world. We are justifiably proud of this dedicated group of professionals who nurture within each child an enthusiasm for learning and work, a healthy self-awareness, an interest and concern for fellow human beings, and a respect for the world. The endowment helps sustain our strong faculty by providing opportunities for professional growth and program development.
Making a Gift
The endowment was established to support both current and future generations of our students and faculty and will last in perpetuity, with only the payout from the fund spent each year. Gifts to the endowment give forever, providing a solid financial foundation for our future.
The endowment provides donors the gratification of helping secure the School’s future with the joy in honoring a child, grandchild, or teacher in a meaningful way. Gifts can also celebrate a milestone or cement a memory. Further, endowing assets often provides tax savings and other financial benefits that enable donors to give more than might have thought possible.
The Waldorf Cup
The Waldorf Cup is an annual golf tournament that brings both funds and attention to the Sacramento Waldorf School Endowment.SWS' alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, current parents and friends are invited to participate as sponsors and players. This year, the Fourth Annual Waldorf Cup was held on April 27, 2015.
