The Sacramento Waldorf School (SWS) enjoys a long tradition of active parent involvement. Through the Parent Guild, mothers, fathers and grandparents are offered many opportunities to share their skills, talents, and love for the community.
The Parent Guild is the official parent group of our School. It is the primary vehicle through which parents and friends of the School support the social and community needs of SWS with a variety of volunteer activities. The Parent Guild hosts our very popular Harvest Faire in October. This event welcomes many community friends and neighbors as well being a great event for alumni and alumni parents to revisit SWS, seeing friends and former teachers.
Parent Guild also provides oversight to the Boosters Club; administers the lost and found; hosts faculty lunches; provides hospitality on Opening Day, Grand Day, and other SWS events; and supports the annual auction fundraiser. The Parent Guild also hosts a speaker series featuring people in the Waldorf movement from around the world.
The success of the Parent Guild rests on the commitment and contributions of our parent body. All are invited to participate in our School's active life through the Parent Guild.
Meetings are held in the Library generally on the second Tuesday of the month from 6-7:30 p.m. Check the calendar for dates.
The Sacramento Waldorf School community is deeply grateful for the innumerable hours of dedicated service of thousands of parents over the years to our community through the Parent Guild, Michael Guild, and the parent groups that preceded them.
