PLEASE NOTE: Tuition Assistance applications for the 2012/13 School Year are due Friday, February 17, 2012 at 4 p.m.
The Sacramento Waldorf School offers tuition assistance to families with financial need. Tuition Assistance is made possible through the generosity of those families who are able to pay the full tuition and through gifts and donations. If you are interested in applying for assistance, please note the following:
- Applications are initially made through a service provided by Tuition Assistance Data Service (TADS).
- TADS reviews all pertinent information and offers a summary report and recommendation to the Sacramento Waldorf School. The School is then responsible for determining the final award.
- The preferred method of applying is on-line at www.tads.com. Families unable to apply on-line may pick up a hard copy application in the office.
- The fee for the application process is $34 per family. A waiver is possible for families with students accepted into SWS in cases of significant hardship. Please contact Liz Beaven at 916-860-2521 or lbeaven@sacwaldorf.org for details. Families with children at Camellia Waldorf School need to complete only one application.
- The application will ask for details of income, savings, assets, home mortgage or rent, and other factors relevant to a family’s ability to meet tuition. Details from the previous tax year will be needed.
- Families may also submit a letter detailing additional information about their financial status or circumstances that may impact their ability to pay the full tuition.
- TADS data is reviewed by a small committee within the School, including the Administrator and a representative of the Board of Trustees. All financial aid information is treated with complete confidentiality.
- On occasion, a follow-up interview or submission of tax returns may be required by the School before determining the final award.
- Tuition assistance is based solely on a family’s ability to contribute toward educational expenses. Tuition Assistance is offered without regard to race, sex, religion or national origin.
- Tuition Assistance awards are calculated after deducting any relevant sibling discounts, another form of financial assistance offered by the School.
- Priority is generally given to continuing students or to those for whom a sudden change in family circumstances will affect the child’s ability to complete his or her education at the Sacramento Waldorf School.
- We make every attempt to offer assistance to all eligible families.
