New Families

Welcome to our school. We are honored to join your family’s journey.

For many families, the journey through their child’s experience of Waldorf education is thoroughly transformative. Having support along the way is crucial to each and every family feeling seen and included in our lively and active school community. Included below is the essential information all SWS families need to fully participate in the life of our school.

  • Newsletter: SWS sends a weekly whole-school newsletter, The Community Current, to all families with updates on campus life, community events, sports, festivals, the Annual Gala & Auction, and more. Be sure to check for messages from Sacramento Waldorf School News. We ask that all families read the newsletter to stay up to date on the active life of the school.

Portals: Parent and Student Portals can be found here. Schedules, forms, gradebooks, the directory, and other class-specific information can be found on your Portal.

  • In support of our families, Sacramento Waldorf School provides a loving and nurturing Extended Day Program for our Kindergarten and Lower School children. Extended Day offers a home-like environment in which younger children enjoy the company of their friends, a nap or quiet time, indoor and outdoor play time, and a nutritious snack. Older children have the opportunity to study, socialize, complete homework, and visit the library. Find more information and how to register on our Extended Day Program page.

  • Families can get involved in many ways at SWS, and we value the gifts each and every one of us brings to our community. From sewing costumes and building sets for a class play or the High School musical to helping coordinate auction items for our annual Gala & Auction to serving as a class representative on the Parent Guild—participation happens in many ways, is always welcome, and makes our school community dynamic. Many volunteer and gathering opportunities are communicated on ParentSquare
